Analysis of Brett Eldredge-Lose my mind
The music video for 'lose my mind' is based around the idea that the love that the man festured in the video has for the woman, has made him insane, this is shown through the use of costumes, with the use of a straight-jacket, highkighting his emotional unstability, the institutionalisation he appears to be in, and the fact that the woman seems to disappear, as though only he can see her. The idea that the man's love for the woman makes him insane is reflected in the lyrics, as they state "you make all my screws come loose", "you make me crazy", this extends the 'insanity' metaphor, as it explicitly states that he has become mentally instable due to his intense love for this woman.
There are many close ups used in the music video, which shows the demand of the record label (Atlantic records) to promote the artist. Brett is also featured in the narrative storyline, which also reflects the record label's need to to promote the artist, this allows the audience to connect with the artist, and would mean that the audience may be further compelled to 'buy in to' the artist's brand. The editing techniques used co-incide with the pace of the music, as the appearance of the shots becomes shorter, and therefore, quicker when the pace of the music increases.
