This is portrayed wih the man opening the fridge and finding it's empty, this works in unison with the lyrics, highlighing that the lyric content isn't too far-fetched to comprehend.

The music video for Bills involves a man who has many bills, and his sturggle to pay them off, this is an issue that may affect many people, however the upbeat tempo of the song almost makes the matter insignificant, and almost explores the happier side of the man's life.
