Carrie Underwood
Carrie Underwood was the winner of American Idol's fourth season and went on to win multiple Grammy and Academy of Country Music Awards. She fuses pop and country singing, and is who Melanie tends to resemble. Below is her biography:
Carrie Underwood-Before he cheats music video
Music
Carrie Underwood's style of singing is present in Melanie Ungar's, as she combines her country roots with her newly-found popstar self, therefore creating a mix of country and pop. In many of Carrie's music videos, she appears to be personifying the emotions presented in her lyrics, creating a more 'blues-like' feel to the video, which allows the true intent behind her music to be experienced by the audience, this is evident in the music video for 'before he cheats' as the pain she feels is shown through the destruction of the town around her, creating a link between the music video and the music's tempo and beat. This allows the audience to feel the emotional intent behind the music, almost making them feel her pain and anger.
Releasing the song 'inside your heaven' following her American Idol win, Carrie went on to release 5 albums. Her debut album, 'Some Hearts' (2005), was certified triple platinum, making it the fastest-selling female country album since the introduction of the Nielsen SoundScan in 1991. Her first single, "Inside Your Heaven," hit the top of the Billboard charts.
On May 10, 2008, at the age of 26, Underwood was inducted as a member of the Grand Ole Opry by country star Garth Brooks, becoming the youngest member of the Grand Ole Opry. Later that year, in September 2008, Underwood won the CMA Award for female vocalist of the year—for the third consecutive time—for Carnival Ride. She was nominated for album of the year, but lost the award to George Strait. Underwood also hosted the CMA Awards with fellow country star Brad Paisley.
