Ed Sheeran was born in February 1991 in Halifax, England. He began playing guitar at a young age and soon after started writing his own songs. When he was just a teenager, he moved to London to pursue his music. Getting a lot of attention with his online performances, Sheeran hit No. 1 on the iTunes chart before he ever signed with a record label. Since signing with Atlantic, Sheeran has sold millions of records and has had a song appear in the second installment of The Hobbit trilogy.
Ed Sheeran began to record his own songs at a very young age. In 2005 he releasedThe Orange Room EP and he followed this with two albums Ed Sheeran (2006) andWant Some? (2007). Ed moved to London in 2008, and in 2009 he played more than 300 live shows and gigs, as Ed's fame grew, he was often approached by many well-known artists, for example, he performed on (and co-wrote) the track 'Everything Has Changed' from Taylor Swift’s album Red, whom he is close friends with.
Ed Sheeran is a singer/songwriter and guitarist with an eclectic blend of acoustic pop,folk, and hip-hop.
