Focus group analysis-Magazine

This question was designed to give me an understanding of the impression my magazine advert makes on my target audience, by giving them a list of choice words used to describe my ideas in a previous focus group, I am able to see how my ideas are perceived. The results show me that 50% of the target audience I questioned deamed my magazine advert ideas as 'childish'. In follow up interviews I discovered that this was due to the font choices, and the overload of colour, as the background was patterned, as well as the features on the advert, to amend this I aim to reduce the colour on the background, in order to allow the features of the advert to be more prominent, giving my advert a more prefessional feeling.

This question helped me understand which aspect of my magazine advert my target audience found most appropriate, and therefore the aspect that they found most appropriate for the music genre and the artist, this allowed me to conclude which aspect should be enhanced and given more definition within my magazine advert, by doing this I could give more emphasis on the encoded aspect which is most helpful for my audience to decode. The results show that 60% of those questioned concluded that the colours were the most appropriate aspect of my magazine advert, the follow-up interview showed me that this was concluded because the colours helped them to figure out the genre the album belonged to, typically speaking, black relates to heavy metal and rock, and bright colours represent the pop genre.

This question was created to help me understand which feature of my magazine advert needs the most editing, as the people questioned could only give one answer, they would have to choose the aspect which needs the most editing, therefore I could change it and create a more professional-looking magazine advert. The results show that 80% of those questioned think that the fonts or colours need the most work, which meant that I needed to change the font choices I made, to make it look more professional, and the colours, as they didn't show consistency throughout my promotional pieces.
