The lyrics in Andy Grammer’s ‘Honey, I’m good’ are representative of the artist’s own experience of love, and reflects his ability to stay faithful when in a relationship, and to dismiss temptations of unfaithful acts. The lyrics suggest that Andy receives offers from other women to do so, however remains faithful in his seemingly loving relationship, highlighting that he is happy that he “has got somebody at home” rather than being with the aforementioned promiscuous women. The lyrics put forward the notion that Andy is more morally evolved than other men, as he is able to control his urges and thoughts, whereas they cannot, as they have been “drinking from that unholy grail”. The fact that the lyrics tell the audience to “check it out” and to “hold up” highlights that Andy believes he is superior to other men, and he wants people to see that he is, illuminating the idea that other’s should be like him, and carry the same morals he does in regards to relationships and respecting women.
