Make up and costumes

New Year's eve

The hair, makeup and costumes for the New Years Eve section of my music video are representative of the occassion the scene is set. As NYE is in winter, the male lead is wearing a thick woolen cardigan, and the female is wearing a gold sparkly top, as glitter and shiny objects are also associated with the occassion. The hair for both of the characters is representative of their relationship together, as neither one feels they need to change themselves too much from what they usually look like, this is also seen with the lack of makeup on both characters.

Valentine's Day

Contrasting the resoning behind the NYE hair and makeup, the make up in the Valentine's Day section is heavy, as it is a common convention for attracting and alluring the opposite sex, this is specifically aimed at my target audience, as it is their generation who abides to this. The use of red and purple signify a sense of romanticism, as they are colours typically associated with the day itself, therefore both charracters can be seen championing the colours.

EASTER

CHRISTMAS

The makeup and costumes fr the Christmas section of my music video is conventionally festive, and representative of the holiday, as the characters are seen to be wearing Christmas jumpers as this would be a typical costume for couples at this time of year.

In-keeping with the festive theme, the Christmas jumpers are red (a typical Christmas colour) and black (to highlight the white accents of the jumper, and the bells that feature on it). The jumpers were thick and woolen, which coincides with the season Christmas falls under, as winter is particularly cold and wet, therefore the warmer clothing is needed. The bells which feature on the jumper suggests a fun and exciting element; which is the feeling I aimed to acheive with the music video.

The makeup and costumes for the Easter scene of my music video relates to the childish fun related to the holiday. The bright colours used in the makeup is sugestive of the child-like behaviour the couple has, and highlights that Easter evokes such behaviour, as it is primarily aimed at young children. The costume colours are also representative of the holiday, as the use of green relates to the nature element of Easter, and the white highlights innocence.
